My To-Be-Read list for 2021 | Books I’m looking forward to reading

Good morning all, I hope everyone has high hopes for 2021 and is keeping their opinions open and positive. With last year being one of the worst years yet for a lot of people, here’s hoping to a fantastic 2021.

If you don’t know what a TBR is, it stands for to be read. As in, my huge pile of hoarded books I haven’t spared a glance for yet.

In 2020, I read around 50 books (a guess, since I always forget to add them to Goodreads!) so this year I’m aiming for just finishing my current TBR and adding some new favourites to my collection!

I have a terrible habit of buying every book I see looking pretty on Instagram or Twitter, which is absolutely where I got at least 40% of my books last year. This is a habit I’m trying to get out of – just some of these covers are absolutely gorgeous and I *need* it.

Books arriving this year

Rule of Wolves by Leigh Bardugo is a fantasy book I am so looking forward to. This book is the second in the duology, starting with King of Scars.

This series is a continuation of Leighs other series, the Six of Crows duology and Shadow and Bone trilogy. You can absolutely enjoy the The King of Scars alone, however I would definitely recommend reading the Shadow and Bone trilogy at least.

You can read more about Leigh Bardugos work here. I have pre-ordered this book, to be delivered on the 30th of March.

A Court of Silver Flames is another continuation, this time of  A Court of Thorns and Roses series by Sarah J. Maas.

Another book I am really looking forward to. I have so far really enjoyed most of SJM’s books, especially the Throne of Glass series.

You would be best off reading A Court of Thorns and Roses series before starting this one!

You can read more about Sarah J. Maas’s work here. Another pre-order, this book should be with me on the 16th of February.

Amazon buys

If you follow a lot of book bloggers or just people who enjoy books on Twitter or Instagram, you can tell how easily influenced I am by a beautiful front cover.

I can’t wait to get to reading all the books on my TBR, but especially Wicked Saints and The Gilded Wolves.

Various Charity Shops

With Covid, I have been completely off put from going to the library but hopefully this year I can go more!

Waterstones or gifts

All in all, that leaves me with a TBR of 28 physical books which I think isn’t too bad! I’m not going to get into e-books, that’s a whole other boat load.

If you haven’t already read my 2021 goals for myself and Perselem, be sure to check it out!
