Painswick Rococo Gardens are the only surviving Rococo Gardens in the whole of the UK. The name Rococo Gardens was coined in the 20th Century to describe this period of garden design.

Time taken? Around an hour – slightly smaller than anticipated, however there is also a coffee shop. We didn’t go in because it was super busy.
Originally used to breed pigeons for their meat, the Pigeon House is now used as a visitor attraction.
Painswick House is a Grade 1 listed building dating back to 1730. The house is completely private with no admittance.
If you’re looking for something to do to kill a few hours, Painswick Rococo Gardens will be ideal for you. You can of course then venture into the village of Painswick and enjoy the Cotswold Stone buildings and St Mary’s church.
